Chief August “Chip” Greiner has over 38 years of command experience in municipal, county, state and railroad law enforcement and is Chief of Police for the Morristown & Erie Railway located in New Jersey. Chief Greiner served as Chief of Law Enforcement Training for the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Institute, Chief of the Bergen County Police - Office of Highway and Traffic Safety, Chief of the Leonia Police Department, Captain of Police - Special Investigations Unit - for the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway and is a graduate of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development (LEEDS) session at Princeton University. Chief Greiner earned a BS degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas Edison State College and a CPM from Rutgers University. He is a NJ State Certified Chief Law Enforcement Executive (CCLEE) and a nationally Certified Emergency Management Coordinator. Chief Greiner serves as the Chairman of the Railroad Police and Security Committee for the American Short Line Association and serves a Promotional Examiner for the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police. Chief Greiner has served as an Editorial Consultant to the History Channel on Railroad Police, is the author of “Secure Tracks”, a quarterly publication for the ASLRRA and has written several books on the history of Railroad Police.
