Richard R. Young, Ph.D., FCILT has 20 years industry experience, including heading international distribution for American Hoechst Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of Hoechst AG of Germany in addition to academia. At Penn State's Center for Supply Chain Research he has been principal investigator for the Private Railcar Fleet Benchmarking Project and at its Applied Research Laboratories for a Department of Defense research project process mapping global marine transportation. His memberships include American Society for Transportation and Logistics, National Defense Transportation Association, and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, which has awarded him fellow status.
