Deputy Chief System Security & Law Enforcement Officer
Aston began his professional law enforcement career with the New York State Department of Corrections (1996). In 2002 he joined the DeKalb County Police Department where during his tenure he has held a variety of positions including Intelligence Analyst Detective, Homeland Security Detective, Emergency Manager and Executive Aide to Deputy Chief of Homeland Security/Emergency Management Director. He was most recently Commander of the Emergency Preparedness Unit (EPU)/Office of System Security & Emergency Management for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). Aston has completed the Georgia Institute of Technology Cybersecurity Leadership Program in addition to the U. S. Transportation Security Administration’s ‘Loaned Executive’ Program where he was deployed to Washington D. C. with secret clearance to represent MARTA for federal transit policy level networking.
