Dr. Gary Gordon is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He is experienced and published in rail and multimodal transportation security and co-author of Railway Security: Protecting Against Manmade and Natural Disasters. Dr. Gordon is a former Assistant Chief Engineer Design & Construction of the former B&M Railroad/Guilford Rail and a former DHS/TSA Assistant Federal Security Director for surface transportation. He received his Ph.D. and B.S. Civil Engineering, and MBA from UMass Lowell and M.S. Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland; and is a registered Professional Engineer and Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army (Retired).
