Nick Percoco is Chief Security Officer at Uptake, a leading advanced analytics company in Chicago that creates a world that always works. Uptake provides solutions for industry giants, such as Berkshire Hathaway Energy, and offers a SaaS product suite for companies of all sizes to set new standards for productive, secure, safe and reliable operations. As CISO, he manages the team responsible for corporate, platform and physical security at Uptake. With more than 20 years of information security expertise, Nick is adept at developing and leading security programs in today’s ever-evolving connected threat landscape. He co-founded the “I am The Cavalry” movement, a highly regarded grassroots hacker organization focused on issues where computer security intersect public safety and human life. He also founded SpiderLabs, the ethical hacking test lab that contributed to Trustwave’s growth. Additionally, Nick is the creator of THOTCON, a growing annual Chicago hacking conference. He has served as leading subject matter expert on security trends for CNN, Fox News, CNET, USA Today and Forbes. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Illinois State University.
