All organizations face the threat of workplace violence. In the transport sector, robberies—and the aggression accompanies them—make transport employees more likely victims of workplace violence than workers in other sectors. Railway employees face an especially high threat because of the number of public-facing roles they perform, the extended length of time they may spend with customers, and their roles in safekeeping cash as well as passengers who can become hostages.
